Product Manager, Developer Platform
LEGO Digital Play is building a proprietary, brand-aligned development platform that will bring digital LEGO to life and deliver a trusted foundation for internal and external developers to build on.
We are seeking a Product Manager to shape the roadmap and priorities for the Developer Platform. In this role, you will own the product direction for the studio-facing platform that translates the LEGO System in Play into usable development capabilities, including SDKs, libraries, validation and policy services, engine integration, and developer tooling.
You will work closely with engineering and partner with internal and external studios to understand developer needs, guide delivery and launch planning, and drive adoption of the platform over time.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in the office as well as occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities for the Developer Platform, balancing studio needs, platform strategy, technical constraints, and business priorities.
Partner with internal and external studios to understand developer workflows, use cases, pain points, and integration needs, and translate these into clear requirements, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Work closely with engineering to shape delivery plans for platform capabilities and live service improvements, including scope, sequencing, release planning, and trade-off decisions.
Drive internal evangelism and external marketing for the Developer Platform, building conviction in its value and helping internal and external studios understand how and when to adopt it.
Lead planning for platform launches and adoption, including MVP definition, pilot use cases, onboarding approach, launch readiness, and success metrics for early and scaled adoption.
Own platform intake and prioritisation processes, establishing clear governance, feedback loops, and transparent decision-making across platform and studio stakeholders.
Develop the platform value proposition, product narrative, documentation priorities, release communications, and enablement materials needed to support adoption over time.
Partner with product, game, studio, and cross-functional
stakeholders, including design, Trust & Safety, and Legal, to ensure platform capabilities are useful, compliant, and aligned with LEGO brand, safety, and policy requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Product Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Technology, Business, STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong product management experience defining and scaling platform products, APIs, SDKs, developer tools, or other shared technical capabilities used by multiple teams, studios, or partners.
Strong track record setting product strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and release plans for technical products from concept through launch and iteration.
Ability to work credibly with engineering across APIs, SDKs, platform architecture, delivery trade-offs, and technical constraints (without needing to be the foremost technical expert in the room).
Experience gathering and synthesising needs from internal studios, external partners, or enterprise customers, and harmonising into clear requirements, priorities, success metrics, and product decisions.
Demonstrated ability to drive adoption through stakeholder alignment, internal evangelism, external marketing, onboarding, and cross-functional coordination.
Strong experience working in integrated cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, production, Trust & Safety, Legal, and other governance stakeholders.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to create clear narratives, requirements, roadmaps, and decision frameworks for technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience balancing near-term delivery needs with long-term platform health, reusability, scalability, and developer experience.
Experience in games, developer platforms, creator tools, studio pipelines, or partner ecosystems, including engine and tooling environments such as Unity or Unreal, or comparable authoring tools.
Strong execution skills across planning, dependency management, prioritisation, and launch readiness for products with multiple stakeholders and adoption paths.
Nice to have
Experience with internal platform products serving multiple studios, business units, or external partners.
Experience launching early-stage platforms or v1 products and securing initial lighthouse adoption.
Experience working with trust and safety, privacy, IP, brand, or policy-driven product constraints.
Experience in child-safe or regulated digital environments, including kids and family digital products.
Experience with engine integration, content toolchains, or comparable production ecosystems supporting technical creators or developers.
